Every year we pile the whole family in the truck, bring tools, gifts, suitcases and 2-3 of our kids and do the 14 hour trek to the Lone Star State to see my family. All of my family are in Texas, so I get to see them at one time, it’s a crazy season, but it works for us all.
This November was a little different, we started planning last year for this epic, once in a decade event of all 7 kids, their significant others and even a grand baby to be in Texas for a week. We rented a house, got flights, cars, schedules and then invited all of our family and friends for a feast to remember. Two fried turkey’s, a ham, everyone made a side dish and dessert to bring, there was food for 30 people, and plenty of leftovers for my mom and dad to pack their fridge after we left.
Now, with that many people, what would make it better, or at least easier for my husband/partner in crime and I to manage?
So when Cascade Ice sent me 30 bottles of all kinds of flavors, I knew we had to step up the game and give the people what they want. A large feast, lots of people, kids and chaos mixed with booze, that is what holidays are made of. So here are a few cocktails we came up with.
8 oz Cascade Black Raspberry
1 1/2 oz gin (higher end tastes better)
Fresh Black Raspberries (frozen)
Fill cup with ice cubes and frozen raspberries
Pour in Cascade Ice Black Raspberry and the gin, stir.
This drink is a perfect daytime drink while you are cooking, conversing and dancing to the music in the kitchen with your family around. It is a great mix of flavors and easy on the waist line for the holiday season.
Jack N’ Cider Sparkler
8 oz Cascade Ice Lemonade
2 oz Jack Daniels Winter Jack Cider
Fill cup with ice cubes.
Pour in Jack Daniels and Cascade Ice Lemonade, stir.
This drink will knock your socks off and taste just like Fall in Texas should taste. It was such a perfect combination that it will be served at our house for Christmas dinner this year!
If you are looking for a new way to add to your holiday season for the adults in your life, make sure you check out Cascade Ice as amazing mixers for your holiday spirits. It will lift yours and theirs!
