I was reading Facebook the other day and saw one of my girlfriends from Texas write this:
Hot Mulled Apple Cider and a night like this.
The simple, but few, autumn Texas moments.
It got me thinking, this time of year is magical for so many reasons, the weather cools down, the yards are decorated with amazing fun things and people are walking around in ADORABLE boots and drinking coffee that smells like home.
Speaking of home, there are other things going on in California, the fires have destroyed countless lives, businesses, and lifestyles of so many in those amazing areas, it will take years to recover from that. Please remember, we are all in this together, if you can, please donate to help the citizens in those areas and their families. You can find links on this Napa Valley Community Foundation page.
I know for me, Comfort food has so many definitions. Sometimes it is something simple like Pumpkin Spice Latte cooking in a crockpot all morning!
Bread- Fresh loaf, salted butter, and an amazing Chicken Noodle Soup to dip it into. It’s exactly what you need when you get inside and need to shake off the chill of the day! Colorado can get bitter cold during this time of year and we all need a warm place to go and enjoy our evening watching Holiday shows!
And then there is the need for a sweet treat that warms the soul the moment you spin it in the Kitchen Aid, you know the one full of spices that make your heart melt. I am talking about Cinnamon, Chai, cloves and brown sugar, a deep, rich flavor that is what we all crave when it is cold outside. There is a Spice Chai Bundt Cake that will be dirtying up my kitchen in days to come!
