It isn’t often that there is an event as big at Glow at the Gardens in Denver and I don’t know about it. Somehow over the past few years, I missed the memo about this dazzling event. Now, before you try and run out and purchase tickets for the 2017 season, I regret to inform you that it is over, having sold out quickly.
Glow at the Gardens showcases the best of the best in Denver’s pumpkin carving community. Horses, snakes, sunflowers and more, all carved and places on display for our amazement. It glows in the darkness and allows us to dream that we could replicate the masterpieces that we covet. I can tell you, we don’t. Mere mortals can’t create out of pumpkin what the masters at Denver Botanic Gardens have created. They have made fires and even wolves, it was amazing to witness and just as if they planned it, the weather on Wednesday night barely required a jacket, so it added to the romantic, lively energy that came from couples walking hand in hand with families of kids running for the candy stations.
Luminaria-lined pathways wind through the Gardens to reveal larger-than-life pumpkin displays. In addition, enjoy a wide array of activities including:
- DJ entertainment from Elite Entertainment
- “Thriller” dance lessons with Adventures in Dance
- Live music by Jack Rice Music
- Halloween storytelling from Rachel Ann Harding
- Pumpkin carving demos
- Free face painting
- Costume contests – two every night!
- Scavenger hunt
- LED performers from Mesmerie Entertainment
Seasonal food and beverages are available for purchase at Offshoots Café, Hive Garden Bistro, cash bars and hot beverage bars.
Next year, keep your eye out for tickets, you won’t regret making this a Fall holiday MUST DO!
