My family and I are foodies. As you can imagine we love to try new things, however, we are working on paying off some debt so that we can do more travel… therefore…. eat more unique foods.
So I have started a weekly menu plan and started using Krogers Click List to pick it up. Our family spent about $1600/month on eating, That included grocery shopping and eating out. Since starting on this journey, We spend about $800/month on groceries and have been eating like kings (We now only eat out about 3 days a month, before it was multiple nights a week).
I decided to share our weekly menu, however, I will do it the week after, that way I can tell you what I like and don’t like about recipes I am using.
Monday: This is an easy dish, fast and painless for the beginning of the week
Tuesday: I cooked the chicken Monday while I was at work and Dave shredded it while I was picking up the preteen from school Monday afternoon. This made for easy and fast dinners before a choir concert and Poms practice
Wednesday: This is my favorite recipe for Crockpot French Dip. Dave was so excited all day for this dish (I grilled some onions to go with his) however a word of advice: Don’t add more salt, VERY salty. I choose the crockpot because I work until 3pm and need a fast easy way to cook it and forget it most weeknights. Here is the French Dip Sandwich Recipe by My Name is SnickerDoodle
Thursday: Dave and I left Thursday night for an emergency trip to Texas on this night, it was a way to see my parents and say goodbye to a dear friends father. We didn’t get back until Sunday night so we can’t tell you about the rest of the week due to that. We did eat Whataburger and Mama’s Pizza while we were gone, so we didn’t skimp on the food festivities!
Clicklist Cost for the week: $176
(Some of the food was saved for another week due to not being in town)
